Frequent Traveler University | Amsterdam. Come join the fun!

The last few months have been incredibly busy outside blogging, so my apologies for the infrequency of posts. I am very grateful for the patience everyone has shown me!

The leading frequent flyer gatherings and educational event is hopping over the Atlantic for the first time, and the roadshow will stop in Amsterdam between 21-23 November 2014.

I find events and meeting people amongst the most inspiring thing in the air miles hobby. I am sure most readers will understand the feeling when friends think you're crazy! I get a huge buzz being able to chat about cents-per-mile, ticketed point mileage, advanced routing codes etc. with people who actually care!

(Don't worry if the above did not make sense…I promise you will understand by the end of the conference! We would be delighted to host anyone of any level… including total newbies!)

Mugshot…

Local content and things relevant to the European followers will be the main theme, and this is being reflected in the line up of speakers. Those who buy tickets will also enjoy free Hyatt Platinum status until February 2016!

I will be presenting, though I'm still deciding on the breadth and depth of my presentation. Given my specialism happily coincides with my friend Kevin from Ghetto IFE we will probably end up jointly preparing slides or topics to maximise the depth of knowledge we can deliver.

There will be presentations in Dutch, English and Scandinavian languages to cater for the diversity of the audience, though I'll only be hanging around in the English ones! I will go to the Saturday dinner too, so if you want to have a chat about anything then you should be able to catch me at some point during the weekend.

If you have a specific question about your travelling patterns or want to discuss something in more detail, then feel free to email, tweet or Facebook me, and I can try to prepare an answer for when I see you. If the question is something I feel everyone can benefit from, I may include it in the presentation (with your permission of course).

You should also expect a sharp increase in activity between now and the end of November as Points to be Made will also become a ‘featured blog' for BoardingArea for a couple of weeks.

See you soon!

  1. and don’t forget Hyatt Plat status until early 2016 is included in the registration fee!

I didn’t sign up for the Sat night dinner but will certainly introduce myself to you and ask you some Avios q’s (that’s your specialty right?)

    Nowadays I’m mainly a DL/AF/VS flyer.

  2. Hi Tim,
Nice post! Looking forward to seeing you at the FTU Amsterdam!
The good thing is that is not just one day, but a whole weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I’m looking forward to meeting all those behind Ikvliegveel too! I’m really delighted the FTU organisers are finally giving Europe the chance to host this!

  3. Hey Tim,

Very cool that you’re giving a presentation @ the conference. I’m a total newbie but learning quickly. Been following a couple of blogs of milepoint gods. I’m hoping you can give me some advice on how to maximize my miles. Mostly travelling from Amsterdam to Jakarta.

    See you there mate!
