If you ever need to rack up some ‘cheap' IHG stays within the United Kingdom because, say, you have some Accelerate targets to hit or you need to cross a tier threshold then this list may come in handy. Make sure you bookmark this page for future reference!
I will divide this post into properties sorted by regions, because someone living in Kent may not be so interested in going to Liverpool for a mattress run, so hopefully there will be something close enough to you.
While I can't comment on pricing for specific properties on specific dates, you can typically stay in London for about £40-50 at the cheapest, and about £30-£40 elsewhere. If there are properties that appeal to you based on convenience you should click the name of the hotel to be taken to their specific page and you can play around with dates. I have included some reference prices for each property which was the cheapest I could find for a random weekend night in November 2019 or February 2020. Obviously this is a clear case of “Your Mileage May Vary” as you may or may not find the same prices!
Some properties are close to sports or music stadia so you may find some dates are very expensive at odd times of the year.
The record I have seen is Holiday Inn Express in Bradford at about £27 before any special discounts (as recommended by InsideFlyer UK). In order to see these kind of rates you will need to pick off-peak timing which are typically Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights.
For further discounts you can try to use the Hertz Partner Rate (make sure you are already a member of Hertz Gold Plus. If not take 60 seconds to sign up) to try and get a bit of a discount which still counts towards as an elite qualifying stay.
